Conspiracy Theories or Actual Facts? The Drama of Rao Anwar's Press Conference and Who Benefits from It.

It took everyone by a bit of surprise when Rao Anwar, a not-so-high level police official came out of nowhere and in a controversial press conference, made intriguing accusations against MQM, a political party having a sizeable presence in both the National Assembly of Pakistan as well Provincial Assembly of Sindh.

"KARACHI: SSP Malir Rao Anwar announced the arrest of two terror suspects last night, whom he claimed were members of Indian spy agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing)." Reference: http://www.dawn.com/news/1179131/arrested-suspects-affiliated-with-mqm-trained-by-raw-ssp

  • Who is this guy and why is he so aggressively hurling charges at MQM?
  • Are these allegations true?
  • Regardless of the authenticity of these allegations, is it legal for a police official to hold press conferences in such manner (amidst ongoing investigations)?
These questions are although relevant but at this point in time, the more relevant question is; WHO IS this person?

According to news media reports and certain past events, Rao Anwar is a corrupt police official loyal to PPP, The Pakistan Peoples Party in fact, he is reported to be a very close accomplice to Zardari, Zulfiqar Mirza and few others in their alleged crimes against the country. These alleged crimes involve murder and corruption on a mass scale news reports have revealed.

Have a look at the links below to find out some details.

"KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza, SP Rao Anwar Ahmed and four other police officers were finally booked on Friday in the killing case of two workers of the Sindh Tarraqi Pasand Party." Reference: http://www.awaztoday.com/News_Sindh-home-minister-SP-booked-in-murder-case_1_1966_Political-News.aspx

After this brief intro of this allegedy corrupt police wala, the readers might be wondering what made this inept officer of the law do this and why. Well, here is what we need to look at in this regard.

  • Rao Anwar is a man having a tarnished image and believed to be a dirty cop.
  • His close ties with Zulfiqar Mirza, Asif Zardari and certain other notorious PPP members has always raised alarms about his professional integrity (no mention of moral or ethical for that matter).
  • Every time when there were serious charges against him, he was either demoted, suspended or transferred but never was he expelled from the police force reasons of which are hitherto undisclosed. Quite intriguing haan?
  • Charges levelled against him thus far include corruption at an extreme level, murder, land grabbing, theft and smuggling of Iranian oil to name a few.
"SP Zakir Hussain from the city of Hyderabad alleges that Malir SSP Rao Anwar and his associates are involved with the land mafia, the excavation of reti bajri or construction gravel and the smuggling of Iranian oil in his area." Does all this ring any bells? Oh yes!

We all know that MQM is facing hard times these days due to the cleanup operation going on in Karachi. Whether it is a genuine attempt to bring real criminals to justice or just another go at wiping MQM off the political scene (unlikely to happen given the ground realities), only time will tell. This operation cleanup is said to be against CRIMINALS of all sorts irrespective of their political, religious or ethnic affiliation. Now it is CRIMINALS who need to be fearful of the moral courage of the law enforcement authorities here. Right?

Ofcourse! Criminals are in a serious state of fear and trying to divert the attention of the law enforcers as well as the general public away from themselves. Wait a minute. Who are these criminals any way? Well my dear readers, it is these very rogues who are trying to save their own skins by pushing others in the line of fire.

Still a bit confused? Read what's below and you shall be enlightened dear readers!

"Uzair Baloch, currently detained (released a few days prior to publishing of this article) in UAE, claimed that he was in direct contact with the PPP leadership and that he had carried out target killings in the city on the orders of PPP leaders. Some of these orders, he claimed, came from the PPP co-chairman, former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza, incumbent Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon and even PPP leader Owais Muzaffar." Reference: http://tribune.com.pk/story/855999/after-saulat-mirza-uzair-balochs-sensational-revelations-come-to-light/

Upon the fear of being exposed, the PPP leadership and company are seeing themselves in dire straits and are relentlessly trying to make all this stop. Using all their powers to keep Uzair Baloch from coming back to Pakistan, to laying blames on others are few of the tactics being employed therein. Furthermore, it does not end at this. Foreign enemies of our country are also in play over here and trying to make the most of the situation. They are constantly plotting and executing their evil plans against our beloved homeland Pakistan.

Why does all this happen to us over and over again? Sigh! What to say and what not to. We, the general public, who constantly need to be reminded that our rights are being confiscated by these insanely corrupt, murderous and ruthless criminals sitting shamelessly in public offices; are the only ones to be blamed for this all! It is us who vote these hypocritic imbeciles for nothing else but to suck our nation dry of our resources and everything good that we have been blessed with.

P.S.
While this article was being written, it was reported in the news that SSP Rao Anwar was dismissed from duties and transferred to a different jurisdiction by the Sindh Govt. Reference: http://www.thenews.com.pk/article-183276-After-MQM-allegations-Rao-Anwar-dismissed-as-SSP-Malir

The Karachi Cleanup Operation - Really Across The Board? Few Questions Need Answers!

Ever Since its inception, it has been noticed that CRIMINALS from all walks of life affiliated with all sorts of parties are being vehemently pursued by law enforcing authorities throughout the city. This was taken as a positive step towards restoring the law and order situation of Karachi and for the good of all Karachiites. Although many perpetrators of serious or should I say, heinous crimes were apprehended during this clean up operation, there have not been any arrest or prosecution of the actual minds behind the these activities. To be simple and precise, the 'Kings & Queens' are still at large and only the 'Pawns' are being knocked down.

Moreover, there is no information even regarding the small-timers' trials and where the prosecution stands in this regard. How can the hopes of the general public rise when the 'Ringleaders' are either fleeing the country, or being acquitted through 'Media Trials'?

For the past few months it is being propagated in public media and very loudly so, that the current Karachi operation is not against a particular political party or ethnic group. The ground reality however, tells a different story altogether.

The situation of Karachi is rather a complex one in nature as compared to other cities of Pakistan. It is not only the largest city of the country, but also the economic hub generating over 3 quarters of the country's entire revenue. People from all parts of Pakistan come here to earn their livelihood. Along with those in search of legal means of income, the criminal elements also find it a place conducive for their  nefarious activities. This makes it all the more important to keep the city free from all sorts of crimes and lawlessness.

There are all sorts of iniquitous activities taking place in this huge metropolis. Street crimes, bank robberies, target killings, drug business, political & judicial corruption are only few out of a long list. Though it seems to be just a bunch of criminals on the loose in town, the true picture is far more alarming than the obvious. Its not only ordinary crooks that are having their way, enemies of the state both foreign and domestic are also playing the devil's game here. Their objectives besides being monetary gain are none other than the destruction of the city and hence, our beloved country Pakistan - God forbid.

Coming back to our topic, it seems there is no one taking any concrete steps towards restoring Karachi's peace and security. 'Economic Terrorism' for that matter is a recent term being used by few media persons especially on electronic media. All sorts of extortion, land grabbing, money laundering and corruption is prevalent in the country without any respite for the poor citizens of Pakistan. Who and what is going to put an end to this and how and when?

Further to all of the above, it has been observed that till date, the main focus of attention is on a single political party, its leadership, workers and sympathisers. The general public of Karachi fail to understand the "Logic" behind this and very rightly so. Following are few critical questions being raised by the society with regards to the current operation cleanup.

  • Why are the trials of all criminals arrested not being expedited?

  • Why are the 'Real' killers of the Baldia Town terrorism/massacre not being booked and tried in court?

  • Why aren't the masters of a notorious  'Liyari Criminal' being brought to justice?

  • Why is it that the 'Clients' of a 'model/actress' arrested on charges of illegal money trafficking not being questioned?

  • Why the corrupt politicians bureaucrats, policemen, members of the judiciary, MPAs, MNAs and rogue law enforcement officials not being stopped and punished?

  • Why does it seem that the current operation has come to it premature end without any worthwhile results?

It is hoped and prayed for that the corrupt and criminal elements of our society are once and for all brought to justice regardless of their power, authority, affiliation, ethnicity, cast or creed.
